De Grieks-Canadese kunstenaar Constantin Ferreo (57), die al geruime tijd in Antwerpen verblijft, heeft in samenwerking met het online kunstplatform Anina, een virtueel internetparcours met animaties opgezet. De animaties zijn duidelijk geïnspireerd door poëzie, politiek en Europa, thema’s die in de hele artistieke carrière van Constantin Ferreo terugkeren. Het virtuele internetparcours wordt op woensdag 15 oktober om 20 uur voorgesteld in het nieuwe Theater aan de Stroom (TAS) aan de Ijzerenwaag 6 in Antwerpen.

The Greek-Canadian artist Constantine Ferreo (57), already for many years living in Antwerp, has in association with the online art platform Anina, set up a virtual internetparcours with animations. The animations are mostly inspired by poetry, politics and Europe, items that during is long-time career constantly are reappearing. The virtual internetparcours will be presented on October 15th, at 8 p.m. in the new ‘Theater aan de Stroom’ (TAS) at the Ijzerenwaag 6 in Antwerp.

Op zaterdag 10 mei 2008 wordt in het Internationaal Perscentrum Vlaanderen aan de Grote Markt in Antwerpen de nieuwe online tentoonstelling van Anina.be geopend. Dit keer is fotograaf Luc Peeters (54) uit Lier te gast met de online fotoreeks ‘Inside Tibet’.

Luc Peeters is in Antwerpse perskringen geen onbekende figuur. Nadat hij aan het Narafi in Brussel was afgestudeerd en een fotopersagentschap had opgericht, leverde hij met zijn medewerkers foto’s jarenlang rond de meest uiteenlopende onderwerpen aan Vlaamse kranten en magazines. Zelf begon hij zich na verloop van tijd vooral te focussen op human interestfotografie en werk voor internationale persbureau’s, tot alle ellende ook aan de fotograaf zelf begon te vreten.

Saterday, may 10th 2008, in the Internationaal Perscentrum Vlaanderen (IPV), situated at Grote Markt in Antwerp, a new exhibition was started on the internetsite anina.be. This time photographer Luc Peeters (54) from Lier appeared as guest with an online series with photographs about ‘Inside Tibet’.

Luc Peeters is well known in the Antwerp and Flemish world of the press. After he had graduated at the Narafi in Brussels and had set up a press agency, with his employees he provided many years photographic work about the most different themes to Flemish newspaper and magazines. After some time, he specialised himself in human interest and started working with international press agencies. But at the end, he had his fill of all the trouble and strife of these stories.

Het Web 2.0 doet de grenzen tussen de verschillende maatschappelijke sectoren vervagen. Consumer generated content heeft duidelijk een invloed op de actualiteit, de politiek, het zakenleven en cultuur. Als platform voor digitale kunst richt ook Anina.be de aandacht op materiaal dat niet door kunstenaars, maar door het publiek is aangebracht.

Op sociale websites zoals YouTube plaatsen miljoenen internetgebruikers wereldwijd eigen videofilms over de meest uiteenlopende onderwerpen. Uit die gigantische massa materiaal heeft Anina.be een kleine selectie gemaakt en een aantal videofilms rond één onderwerp samengebracht, zonder dat de filmers ooit de bedoeling hebben gehad aan een kunstonderwerp te werken.Als onderwerp koos Anina.be daarbij voor de wereld van de fauna, waarbij internetgebruikers dieren hebben gefilmd in de meest uiteenlopende omstandigheden en situaties, gaande van de vrije natuur tot het dierenasiel. Het onderwerp is willekeurig gekozen, maar dieren vormen één van de meest gefilmde onderwerpen op sociale netwerken. De bezoeker kan dan ook van hieruit verder op exploratie in de virtuele dierenwereld.

Opening Mediacafé Managing21 on Friday January 11 th at 8 p.m. with a music composition ‘Avatar’ from Walter Baeken and a virtual barshrink Shrinky in the International Press Centre Flandres in Antwerp, Grote Markt 40.

Op vrijdag 11 januari openen het online nieuwsmagazine Managing21.be en het online kunstplatform Anina.be het virtuele Mediacafé Managing21. Dat gebeurt in samenwerking met de virtual community TAATU. De officiële opening van het Mediacafé heeft plaats in het Internationaal Perscentrum Vlaanderen (IPV) aan de Grote Markt 40 in Antwerpen. Van dan af zal het Mediacafé dagelijks toegankelijk zijn voor nieuwsheadlines en online kunstprojecten.

Katie Lagast toont Candybirds

Op donderdag 25 oktober om 20 uur stelt het online kunstplatform Anina.be werk van de Antwerpse kunstenares Katie Lagast (40) voor. Het is voor de eerste keer dat de kunstenares een online kunstproject heeft opgezet. Voordien was ze vooral actief op ruimtelijk vlak, met onder meer installaties, tekeningen en objecten. De vernissage van de tentoonstelling heeft plaats in het Internationaal Perscentrum Vlaanderen aan de Grote Markt in Antwerpen.

Katie Lagast shows Candybirds

The online art platform Anina.be presents work from the Antwerp artist Katie Lagast (40). It is the first time that the artist has set up an online artproject. Before she was especially active on spatial area, with among others installations, drawings and objects. The vernissage of the exhibition took place at the International Press Centre Flandres in Antwerp.
